Every Sunday I send out a new humorous essay, plus a digest of my ELLE.com Eric Reads the News columns from the week, skewering pop culture, politics, celebrity, shade, and schadenfreude.

I’m a Senior Staff Writer at ELLE.com, a playwright, and the host of The Moth StorySlams in Philly and Washington. I’m here for stories—stories from the present moment, pop culture ephemera we can’t stop talking about, tales we should’ve heard about but didn’t. I’ve also been published multiple times in The New York Times, Man Repeller, and W Magazine. I have two books coming out in 2020, Here for It, or How to Save Your Soul in America, a memoir in essays about the intersections of blackness, queerness, Christianity, and Americanness, and Reclaiming Her Time, a deep dive into the life, work, and wisdom of Congresswoman Maxine Waters.

We have so much to talk about

What if Beyoncé drops an album? What if yet another White House cabinet member suddenly quits? What if Audra McDonald follows me on Twitter? I’m on the case! Plus, this newsletter contains info on appearances, random delights from the internet, and sneak peeks at my books before the hit the shelves.
